Mack earned a B.A. in English and Journalism at the University of Mississippi and a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Mississippi. He’s won two Associated Press Writing Awards for Investigative Reporting and Spot News, a Clio for a commercial, and First Place in the Mississippi Arts Festival for Fiction. For two seasons (125 half-hour episodes), he co-hosted the syndicated TV show, Comedy Break with Mack & Jamie, and was a series regular for two seasons on CBS’s Paradise. Mack published Fluffing the Concrete: Making the Most of Foreign Prison—or Anything Else, a memoir of his stay in an African prison; and Does This Book Make My Head Look Fat?, a collection of his funniest columns, cartoons, and radio and TV scripts. A black belt in tae kwon do karate, Mack won numerous competitions across the South during his college days.
