Meet Janet Alston Jackson…

Award-winning author Janet Alston Jackson believes that “You can have inner peace, even in the midst of chaos.” This is the unwavering belief and teaching of her trainings, speeches, and coaching,

Janet received the USA Book News Award for her biography, A Cry for Light: Journey into Love, and her other book, Your Happiness Is Within, was nominated for the Global E-books Award.

A communications expert, Janet shares how she had to find inner peace through practicing Mindfulness during her 20 years promoting celebrities for ABC and CBS Television Networks while raising three children, one with special needs. “Mindfulness kept me balanced because I was able to release stress in high-pressured situations,” she explains.

A Certified Law of Attraction Advanced Practitioner, she teaches how wealthy celebrities and those working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry use the Law of Attraction, which anyone can use to manifest their goals and dreams. As a publicist, and in management, Janet has worked on ground-breaking classic television shows including “Roseanne,” “Good Times,” “The Jeffersons,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Waltons,” “Rhoda,” and “Full House.” In addition, she worked on “The Emmys,” “The Grammys,” “The People’s Choice Awards” and many television movies. She was awarded the national Publicist Guild of America Award for the “Twin Peaks,” television series.

Janet left the entertainment industry when she adopted two of her three children. She was shocked and saddened to learn that, at that time, there were 50,000 children in Los Angeles county who were wards of the court because, like her adopted children, they’d been neglected or abused. She and her husband, Walter, founded a non-profit organization to raise the self-esteem of children and to teach parents Mindfulness to release stress with hopes of keeping families together.

Janet spent four years in a non-denominational ministry. She received the Three Jewels and Five Mindfulness Trainings Certification from world-renowned Mindfulness teacher and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Mr. Nhat Hanh, who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Martin Luther King, also wrote an intro to Janet’s memoir, A Cry for Light: A Journey Into Love. The book chronicles Janet’s journey into Mindfulness practice, and tells how it helped her raise her emotionally disturbed adopted son. Janet’s Dharma name is “Compassionate Healer of the Heart.”

Janet is a licensed Heartmath coach, Reiki Master, and is certified in The Law of Attraction and Mindfulness teaching. Her volunteer work has included teaching incarcerated teen girls creative writing and caring for small animals as a docent at the Los Angeles Zoo. Janet is the mother of three grown children and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
